I’m confused. Yahoo news is reporting that there is Melamine in infant formula. The FDA says that there is no acceptable limit for Melamine in infant formula. The FDA also says that we (parents) shouldn’t overreact.
Traces of the industrial chemical melamine have been detected in samples of top-selling U.S. infant formula, but federal regulators insist the products are safe. The Food and Drug Administration said last month it was unable to identify any melamine exposure level as safe for infants, but a top official said it would be a “dangerous overreaction” for parents to stop feeding ...
Oh gosh readers, this is quite the contest, and I’m only telling you about it because my kids are too dang old for it. The prizes are good but the opportunity to have your baby on a book cover? That is amazing. A Dr. Sears Book cover no less.
From now until December 30, 2008 HAPPYFAMILY and HarperCollins are offering 4 babies the chance to be on the cover of Dr. Sears’ book plus each Grand Prize Winner will also receive over $1000 in prizes:
CNN is reporting that 1,500 Chinese Raccon Dogs have died because of a tainted food supply.
Apparently melamine was found in the dog food supply. Melamine is the same deadly chemical that was added to the dairy supply last month and sent Chinese babies to the hospital with kidney stones. Four Chinese babies’ deaths have been blamed on infant formula that was laced with melamine. Some 54,000 other children were sickened.
Zhang determined that the animals died of kidney failure after performing a necropsy — an animal autopsy — on about a dozen dogs. He declined to say when the ...
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, dinosaurs roamed the earth and my breasts were perky.
No. You aren’t at the wrong website, keep reading.
Then I had kids, two to be exact. With the first child I put a pillow on my lap, to keep her up high to breastfeed. When the second child came, I put him in his highchair, across the table from me and flopped my boob out.
Okay, that’s a tiny exaggeration.
It’s interesting that Medela has never had a product that comes in contact with Mother’s Milk which contains BPA.
It’s exciting that they have a line of Nursing Camisoles.
It’s delightful that they’re pretty.
It’s thrilling that they’re giving one away to one EcoChildsPlay reader. Just thrilling.
As you probably know, bamboo fabric provides enhanced breathability, natural anti-bacterial properties as well as the ability to quickly absorb moisture. Additionally, many moms appreciate bamboo’s eco-friendly qualities — recognized as one of the fastest growing plants in the world, bamboo is extremely renewable and doesn ...
Mothers exposed to phthalates during pregnancy may give birth to boys with incomplete genital development and impaired testicular function.
Shanna Swan, a professor at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, authored a study recently, testing 106 expecting mothers’ urine for pthalates. They also looked at their babies at 12 months old, and found a correlation between the levels of pthalates in the mother’s body and certain physical traits, such as undescended testicles, smaller penis, and immature genital development.
Phthalates are an endocrine disruptor found in many everyday items, from PVC shower curtains to furniture to personal ...
As China comes out of it’s adolescence and moves toward a true free market it stumbles and rights itself. Chinese people aren’t bad or silly, two of them appear to be, and may face the death penalty. You see, two brothers have been arrested for selling contaminated milk.
My sense of justice has me delighted. My motherhood has me alarmed. The most recent number is 52,000. Fifty two thousand sick babies, 104,000 parents wondering what else they could have done. 208,000 grandparents praying over their children and their grandchildren. Communities in fear and businesses struggling ...
